“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”

- Nelson Mandela

“No time is ever wasted if you have a book along as a companion.”

- Marian Wright Edelman

The pathway to educational prosperity is disruptive innovation.

Teach empathy as a life skill, not as a lesson plan.

For children to have success, it’s more than just academics. It takes social emotional intelligence.

“Buckner Education transcends industry to promote innovation in the education ecosystem.”

— Joy Buckner, Founder

Buckner Education is a contemporary consultancy working to allay old-world educational beliefs to meet contemporary educational challenges and needs.

Based in the United Arab Emirates, we are dedicated to finding opportunities for innovation in the educational ecosystem. By addressing the full spectrum of student and practitioner needs, we blur the lines between the brick and mortar facilities where education happens to improve key areas of student and school performance.

Mission

At Buckner Education, we believe that all stakeholders across industries should have the training and resources they need to thrive, regardless of their background and location. As such, our mission is:

  • To increase access to innovation-focused professional development by consulting with business leaders in Learning & Development teams with the desire to develop stronger programs and by providing training to educators around the world.

  • To help educators and other professionals to upskill and be abreast with the constantly changing times by assessing their needs, meeting them where they are, and helping them to move forward.

  • To increase diversity, equity, and inclusion in business, education, and pedagogical methods.

  • To empower those outside of the traditional education space (e.g. homeschooling practitioners, arts therapists, theater practitioners) to step up to the table and engage in discourse regarding education, adding their unique value.

  • To work with grassroots Community-Based Organizations to further their goals.

  • We believe in the importance of approaching people with the understanding that they are the experts in their context and they should guide their own journey. Prioritizing empathy and building rapport are key factors in our approach which ensures that the solutions are being implemented eye to eye and heart to heart.

  • We believe that when addressing a need it is vital to work alongside those who best understand that need. Thus, we connect with small grassroots Community-Based organizations in order to further their goals. We also make special effort to connect with stakeholders across the world because by increasing community across borders, we increase our perspective and achieve progress that wouldn’t be possible in isolation.

  • Location, background, and skill-level should not be a factor when providing equal access, opportunities and resources to historically marginalized groups and individuals who have historically been excluded or marginalized. We prioritize ensuring that everyone we work with feels valued, heard and knows that they deserve a seat at the table, and that they have a uniquely valuable voice.

  • We believe in creating solutions that level the playing field for all stakeholders.

  • We foster cross-border connections with the belief that it is important that people around the world have a forum to connect and collaborate.

  • We believe that teaching the students who will be the leaders of tomorrow requires constantly looking forward. Our understanding of pedagogy must adapt and grow to keep up with what it takes to prepare students for an evolving world. We can’t be stagnant with our practice.
